The short version: I collect your name and email only when you hand them to me through a form on this site, I use them only to reply to you and to send the things you asked for, and I never sell or share them. No advertising, no cookies, and nothing here follows you around the internet. I do count page visits, in a way that cannot identify you.
Who this is
Beautiful Beginnings is a health education business owned and operated by Heather Heydasch, RN, in East Tennessee. This policy covers the website at this address and the forms on it.
What I collect
I only collect information you type into a form and submit. Depending on which form you use, that may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it — it's optional
- Your organization and the kind of group you represent, if you're inviting me to speak
- Anything you write in a message box
I do not collect health information through this website. If you send me something personal in a message box, I treat it as private and don't share it.
What I use it for
- To reply to you
- To send workshop dates, and free resources when you've asked to receive them
- To arrange a session if you've invited me to your group
That's the whole list. I don't use your information to advertise to you, and I don't build a profile on you.
What I never do
I never sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone for their own use. Not to other businesses, not to advertisers, not to anyone building a mailing list.
The email list
If you ask to be added, you'll get workshop dates and new free resources as they're finished. That's it — it isn't a newsletter and it won't be frequent. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also just reply and ask to be taken off. I'll do it and I won't be offended.
Services I rely on
A few outside services make this site work, and they process your information only to deliver it to me:
- Form delivery. Form submissions are passed through a third-party form service that emails them to me.
- Website hosting. My host may keep standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, as nearly all web hosts do.
- Email. My email provider stores messages you send me, the same way any email does.
- Visitor counts. My host provides a simple, cookie-free page counter. It tells me how many people visited a page and roughly what part of the world they came from. It does not use cookies, does not identify you, and does not follow you to other websites.
- Email list delivery. If you join the email list, the service I use to send those emails stores your address so it can deliver them. It is used for that and nothing else.
This site does not use advertising trackers, and nothing here follows you to other websites. If that ever changes, I'll update this page before it does.
Children
This website is written for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from children through it — registrations and inquiries come from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has submitted information here, email me and I'll delete it.
Photographs taken at workshops are handled separately from this website. I don't photograph a participant without written permission from a parent or guardian, and in the case of a girl old enough to have an opinion about it, I ask her too. Consent is always optional and never a condition of attending.
How long I keep things
I keep inquiry messages as long as they're useful for staying in touch, and email addresses until you ask to be removed. If you want your information deleted sooner, just ask.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time to tell you what information I have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email me and I'll take care of it. You don't need a reason and you won't be asked for one.
Changes to this policy
If I change how any of this works, I'll update this page and change the date at the top.
